This training is designed for early childhood professionals to understand the impact of trauma/violence on children and their families.

About this Event

This training supports professionals working in the early childhood sector to understand the lived experience of trauma and introduce them to ARCHS' Neighborhood Healing Network hub sites to better assist and support crime victims. As a result of this training participants will:

• Develop a deeper understanding of trauma, its various forms, and impact on health and functioning as a result of primary (individual) victimization and indirect victimization;

• Gain trauma-sensitive practices and strategies to avoid re-traumatizing individuals who have experienced trauma and/or victimization, both interpersonal and organizational perspective; and

• Learn to navigate the community resources and networks to support the immediate and long-term needs of individuals who experience trauma.
