This training is designed for workforce development professionals to understand the impact of trauma/violence on the clients they serve.
About this Event
This training supports workforce development professionals to better understand the lived experiences of job seekers impacted by trauma and community violence.
As a result of this training participants will:
• Develop a deeper understanding of trauma, its various forms, and impact on health and functioning as a result of primary (individual) victimization and indirect victimization;
• Gain trauma-sensitive practices and strategies to avoid re-traumatizing individuals who have experienced trauma and/or victimization, both interpersonal and organizational perspective; and
• Learn to navigate the community resources and networks to support the immediate and long-term needs of individuals who experience trauma.
